• how to measure the volume resistivity and dielectric breakdown strength of thermoplastics
• how the volume resistivity ρ of a thermoplastic depends on temperature, relative humidity and the frequency of the applied voltage
• our current understanding of how the volume resistivity of a thermoplastic controls its high voltage breakdown properties.
